Gilpin Township Industrial and Economic Development Advisory Committee
The purpose of the Industrial and Economic Development Advisory Committee shall be to advise the Board of Supervisors on matters dealing with the advancement and expansion of industrial and economic development within Gilpin Township. The Gilpin Township Industrial and Economic Development Advisory Committee shall aim to create a diverse business community that is prosperous and innovative while built on a stable economic foundation. The committee shall work to improve the industrial and economic environment of Gilpin Township.
The Gilpin Township Industrial and Economic Development Advisory Committee mission shall be to be a resource for the business community, by supporting in the growth and support of local business. The committee shall look at new and innovative ways to market existing businesses and industry in the community and attract new businesses and industry that will be complementary to our existing base.
Committee members should expect to work closely with Township Businesses, the Township Planning Commission, the Township Zoning Officer, the Board of Supervisors, the Leechburg Area School Board of Directors, and the Armstrong County Board of Commissioners as well as Non-Government Organizations such as the Leechburg Area Community Development Corporation, Leechburg Area Community Association, and any potential developers.
