Zoning Fees
The permit for construction of a single or multi-unit dwelling (including a mobile home) is:
$30.00 for the first 800 square feet of floor space; and
$3.00 for each 100 square feet of floor space thereafter (including porches and attached garages).
Permits for additions to existing buildings or structures (excluding commercial, institutional, or industrial structures) are:
$20.00 for the first 400 square feet of floor space; and
$3.00 for each additional square feet of floor space (including garages, porches, carports, etc.)
Permits for the construction of accessory buildings (i.e. detached garages, storage sheds, barns, other farm buildings, picnic shelters, pavilions, etc.) are:
$10.00 for the first 200 square feet of floor space; and
$3.00 for each additional 100 square feet of floor space.
Permits for the construction of solar energy system shall be:
Small System:
$25 if system is roof mounted; and
$35 if system is ground mounted, up to one (1) acre: and
$10 for each additional acre.
Large System:
$100.00 per application.
A road bond is required when Township maintained roads are utilized to remove or transport any project materials.
Permits for swimming pools are:
$30.00 for all in-ground or above-ground installations.
Permits for signs are:
$20.00 per sign, excluding billboards.
Permits for billboards are:
$35.00 per billboard.
$10 per additional face.
Permits for demolition of residential, agricultural, and accessory buildings are:
$15.00 per building.
Permits for the construction of commercial, industrial, or institutional buildings are:
$50.00 for the first 800 square feet of floor space; and
$4.00 for each additional 100 square feet of floor space.
Permits for an addition to an existing commercial, industrial, or institutional building are:
$30.00 for the first 400 square feet of floor space; and
$3.00 for each additional 100 square feet of floor space.
Permits for the demolition of commercial, industrial, or institutional buildings are:
$.15 per square foot of floor space.
Building or demolition permits for structures not defined above are:
$35.00 for a building with an estimated construction/demolition cost of $50,000.00 or less; and
$1.00 for each additional $1,000.00 of estimated construction/demolition cost above $50,000.00.
Extraction of natural resource conditional use permits are:
$100.00 per application.
A road bond is required when Township maintained roads are utilized to remove or transport any material.
Applications for Conditional Use are:
$600 to be paid prior to the hearing.
Variance Applications or any other ZHB Hearings are:
$1,500 with unused funds returned to the applicant as per the Zoning Ordinance.
Application or requests for amendments are:
$1,500 with unused funds returned to the applicant.
Applications for Use or Change of Use of a parcel are:
$15 per application.
Driveways and Roads
Application for Excavation of Township roads shall be:
$50 Permit Fee per excavation; and
$30 Township Inspecting Fee
Application for construction or reconstruction of driveways accessed from a Township Road shall be:
$20 per driveway to be constructed.
Copies
Copies shall cost:
$0.50 per page printed (front and back shall count as two pages).
ATV
ATV Permits shall cost:
$75 per permit for Township Residents; and
$100 per permit for Non-Township Residents; and
$50 for Senior (65+) Residents
Payment Methods
Payments shall be by check or money order. All checks or money orders should be made payable to "Gilpin Township."
Penalties
Should any individual, organization, or corporation fail to file application for any of the above permits, the applicable fee shall be doubled.
